Patterns in Nature
Lanner Village Hall, Lanner, Cornwall.
5:30 – 6:30pm Tuesday 10th March 2020.

Almost all things in nature can be considered to be a pattern, for example: an object’s shape; colour; texture; sound or taste. We see these patterns around us every day, and use them to group objects into categories: animal; vegetable, or mineral etc… Why these patterns form is one of the great unanswered questions in 21st century science.
The show highlights the elegance and beauty of the natural world. We present a collection of common patterns and structures, and examine the possible ways in which those patterns might form.
Most of the experiments presented in this show are deceptively simple, they can be easily reproduced at home. Nonetheless, these experiments provide the basis for some very big ideas: energy, entropy and least action.
